Ynyr Llwyd has composed music for numerous projects over the years. He can compose both instrumental music and vocal songs in various musical styles.
After graduating in Music at University, he went on to gain a Masters Degree in Composition, specialising in Music for Television and Film.
Soon after, he set up 'Ystrad Music' to further establish himself as a composer and promote his love and passion for making music.

Ynyr is also a solo artist, having released three albums of his own original material. His songs are a mixture of acoustic pop/rock/folk tunes and piano ballads.
His experiences include numerous TV appearances and radio sessions, performing on stage at different festivals and concerts, and his music has been used in a number of creative projects and events.
In the early stages of his career, Ynyr's love for performing music led to contracts working as a musician on cruise ships sailing the Caribbean, Mediterranean and parts of Scandinavia, entertaining audiences all over the world.

Ynyr is also demonstrating his musical expertise in the education sector; running engaging contemporary music workshops with school pupils, and working as a teacher in his role as Head of Music at a secondary school.

2023 was a particularly successful year for Ynyr Llwyd as a songwriter; his song 'Eiliadau' (Seconds) was in the top 8 songs for the annual Song for Wales songwriting competition, and Ynyr also won the Tlws Sbardun songwriting competition at the National Eisteddfod in 2023 with his acoustic song 'Ffrind am Oes' (Friend for Life).
